Has American shingle gone bankrupt?

Has American shingle gone bankrupt?
Their reply to me was "We are no longer working in your area and your money will be refunded to you." Two years later, no refund and all phone numbers are not working.

My advice to you is not to deal with this company at all. They are in the deception business and not the shingle business. Check with your insurance company and see what their reputation is with them first. Ask for local houses that they have done and if they can't give you any, it's a sign that they are not a valid company.

My other advice to you is: Do not give them (or any other contractor who is working through a two-check paying ststem with your insurance company) your first check from the insurance company unless you have all of the supplies required for the job delivered first to your property. If they of anyone else tries to remove the above said materials, call the local law enforcement and tell them that a theft of your property is occuring.Do not give them the last check until the job is inspected by your insurance company and is done to your satisfaction and cleaned up properly.

What were monopolies and trusts?

What were monopolies and trusts?
Monopolies and trusts were big businesses that had gained control over all other competition, therefore allowing themselves to regulate prices ( usually causing widespread debt on people who were reliant on their services ). An example of this is the railroad companies during the industrial revolution who could charge ludicrously per freight car of goods shipped to the farmers who were unable to get their goods out otherwise. These monopolies, or trusts, are now prevented by the government to keep them from hurting others as they did in the past.

I hope this helps :)

How does effective management take advantage and contribute to motivation?

How does effective management take advantage and contribute to motivation?
Motivation is the set of justifications or the reasons which can make an individual to do a particular task or show a particular behavior. This term is widely used in the context of businesses because employee motivation is one important aspect which can help the business to attain it's goals. You have very rightly said that effective management can lead to motivation and it can get advantage out of this motivation. For example, motivating factors are those which can provide some kind of reward to the workers (that may fulfill their needs) and they will eventually motivated towards their goals. Now through effective management, companies can make employees to work hard and then give then financial and non-financial incentives which will further foster motivation in them and the company can get advantage of this employee motivation. Some of the effective management tools include giving employees the authority of decision making to some limitations, employee rewards, and various other techniques.

Amber22Great AnswerReportMotivation is a general term applying to the entire class of drives, desires, needs, wishes and similar forces. Human motives are based on needs, whether consciously or subconsciously felt. Some are primary needs, such as the physiological requirements for water, air, food, sleep and shelter. Other needs maybe regarded as secondary such as self esteem, status, affiliation with others, affection, giving, accomplishment and self assertion. These needs vary in intensity and over time among different individuals.
Managers motivate their subordinates by doing those things which hope to satisfy the above mentioned drives and desires and induce the subordinates to act in a desired manner.
Managers should have an understanding of the roles assumed by people, the individuality of people and the personalities of people and strive to satisfy' the needs of the employee and also utilize his potential and also contribute to the organization. Some of the human factors in managing and motivating his subordinates are:
Multiplicity of roles: The fact that an employee is more than just a productive factor in management's plans should be taken into consideration. They could be members of many social organizations like schools, churches, temples, trade associations, clubs, political parties etc. It is important to keep in mind that the managers and the people they lead are interacting members of a broad social system
No Average person: People are different even if they have a specific role in the organization. It is important to acknowledge that people are essentially different and have different needs, attitudes, desires for responsibility, different levels of knowledge and skills and different potentials Managers should understand the complexity and individuality of people and should to make individual arrangements within the framework of the organizational rules and this does not exclude the possibility of arranging a job to the fir a person in a specific situation
Importance of personal dignity: A manager should never violate the dignity of his subordinates. Each subordinate must be treated with respect no matter what their position is in the organization
Consideration of the whole person: The human being is a total person influenced by external factors. A person has separate and distract characteristics such as knowledge, skills orpersonality traits and they cannot divest themselves of these forces when they come to work. A manager must recognize these facts and be prepared to deal with them.
Money : Can never be overlooked as a motivator whether given in the form of salary, bonus, incentive pay stock options, company paid insurance, money is important. Money can mean more then monetary value. It can also mean status or power.
Participation: Use of participation is against. Motivational tool that can be used by managers. Only rarely are people not motivated by being consulted on action affecting them. Most people in the centre of operations have knowledge of both problems and of solutions. As a result, participation yields both motivation and knowledge valuable for enterprise success. Participation is also a means of recognition and appeals to the need for affiliation and acceptance. It gives people a sense of accomplishment
Quality of working life: Is a systems approach to job design and a promising development in the broad area of job enrichment. Managers have regarded it as a promising means of dealing with stagnating productivity. Workers have also seen it as a means of improving working conditions and productivity and as a means of justifying higher pay.
Effective managers must respond to the motivations of individuals if they are to design an environment in which people will perform willingly. Likewise they can design a climate that will arouse of reduce motivation. Guest

What is the difference in S-Corps and LLC?

What is the difference in S-Corps and LLC?
An LLC is simply an entity (a separate entity, as is any corporation) that is set up by individuals in business to protect themselves from personal liability in the event of a lawsuit. The partners of the LLC (limited liability corporation) must always protect themselves personally by never "breaking the corporate veil", ie: not co-mingling corporate funds or expenses with their personal financial transactions. As far as taxes and the IRS, an LLC is treated as a pass-through corporate partnership. In other words, your earnings or losses from your LLC will pass-through from your corporate tax returns to your personal tax returns. You have to file a form 1065 each year which will include a form K-1 which states the earnings/losses for each member (partner) of the LLC. These amounts are then reported (passed-through) to that LLC members' personal tax return.

What is rate and efficiency of work?

What is rate and efficiency of work?
Rate and efficiency are two different things, but can be related.Rate : How many units per period are being completedFor example, a car assembly line might be set at a rate of '5 cars an hour' passing through each station. Workers would have an average of 12 minutes to complete their tasks at each station.Efficiency : Staying busy with a task within its established time requirement. For example, using the previous car assembly line, each worker at the station should need all 12 minutes to complete their task -- to be efficient. If the worker can complete their task in 10 minutes, they're not staying efficient... they're standing around idle for 2 minutes waiting for the next task. Note that if for some reason the worker needs 15 minutes to complete their task, they're still being efficient (constantly working) but they did slow down the 'rate' process, probably affecting the other workers after them.

Who would want to know why liabilities on a balance sheet are classified as current and non-current?

Who would want to know why liabilities on a balance sheet are classified as current and non-current?
Potential investors and the bankers or even the employees might be interested to know. This is because current liabilities which is due within a year would need immediate attention. Which means that the company must have enough cashflow to pay this immediate debt, if not the company would go bankrupt.

While non-current liabilities the company would have a longer time to gather enough money to pay up. If the company is profitable enough they should be able to pay up.

When the rate of interest increases what will be the effect on the shares?

When the rate of interest increases what will be the effect on the shares?
Interest rates. Most people pay attention to them, and they can impact the stock market. But why? In this article, you will learn some of the indirect links between interest rates and the stock market and how they might affect your life.

The Interest Rate
Essentially, interest is nothing more than the cost someone pays for the use of someone else's money. Homeowners know this scenario quite intimately. They have to use a bank's money, through a mortgage, to purchase a home, and they have to pay the bank for the privilege. Credit card users also know this scenario quite well - they borrow money for the short-term in order to buy something right away. But when it comes to the stock market and the impact of interest rates, the term usually refers to something other than the above examples - although we will see that they are affected as well.

The interest rate that applies to investors is the Federal Reserve's federal funds rate. This is the cost that banks are charged for borrowing money from Federal Reserve banks. Why is this number so important? It is the way the Federal Reserve (the "Fed") attempts to control inflation. Inflation is caused by too much money chasing too few goods (or too much demand for too little supply), which causes prices to increase. By influencing the amount of money available for purchasing goods, the Fed can control inflation. Other countries' central banks do the same thing for the same reason.

Basically, by increasing the federal funds rate, the Fed attempts to lower the supply of money by making it more expensive to obtain.

How do you calculate unlevered cost of capital?

How do you calculate unlevered cost of capital?
Leverage indicates the use of debt in conjunction with owner's equity to finance an accumulation of assets. The term "unlevered" implies that there is no use of debt to make such asset acquisitions. Therefore, the cost of capital would include the costs associated with equity-only financing. This includes the rate of required return on both preferred and common stock (with their appropriate weighting).

Why does America keep spending money if they're in debt?
This is a very intricate issue in Economics and often arises in theminds of students, common people alike. In fact, when the country isin debt, they try to squeeze government spending and in such ascenario purchasing capacity of the common people reduces. As aresult, with abundance of supply, there is no purchaser to buythem. When the US economy was in jeopardy in 2008, the Fed Reservepumped billions of dollars so that the economy gets back itsnatural momentum and the American people don't refrain frombuying, thus not affecting the demand-supply rule. Even today, theFed Reserve decided to continue the aid package till February,2014so that unemployment rate falls at reasonable level and dollarbecome strong, inviting FIIs to invest in USA.

After World War II the United States was the only country thatdidnt have all their factories obliterated. They have the biggest military as theycontinually build their military and have the biggest budget fortheir armed forces. Much of the world relies on them to keep thepeace so many nations intentionally do not build their militaryforces up.

What is a good ten key calculator score?

What is a good ten key calculator score?
Not sure what you mean by "score", but precision and speed come with time. If you're a college student and this is for a class, don't worry about it... the first time you have to use one for real (ie adding up a column of a few hundred or few thousand numbers) you'll be just as fast as anyone by the time you're done.

You'll find that different adding machine manufacturers have some extra keys or have the function keys in different spots... that tends to screw you up if you're not paying attention.

Why is shareholder wwealth maximization be a beter operating goal than profit maximization?

Why is shareholder wwealth maximization be a beter operating goal than profit maximization?
A firm's operating goal should be to maximize shareholder wealth as it is shareholders who are the owners of the firm. Profit maximizing however is more of a personal/management oriented type goal as it only benefits those running the company. This problem is known as the Agency issue, and it is directly related to the asymmetry of information problem that all firms suffer from.

Typically, higher ranking persons in a company, usually managers, know a lot more about the firms operations than do subordinates and common stock holders; this information may be exploited so that only profits and managements' personal pay packets are maximized, and shareholders who funded the firms operations by their purchase of ordinary equity benefit none as they experience no gain through increase in share value.

In order to overcome this issue, several things can be done. For example, monitoring techniques can be put in place to ensure management is acting in shareholder interest and not their own, or alternatively, management pay packets can be directly linked to the goal of maximizing shareholder wealth. If and when this goal is achieved and shareholders realize gains, management may be paid a cash bonus or an allotment of shares.

Put simply, shareholder wealth maximization should be the firms operating goal simply because they are financing the firms operations with their investing in the firm; to act against their interests is unethical, but still not unheard of.

What is the average pay at bath body works?

What is the average pay at bath body works?
It's about average with the rest of retail. It all depends on your experience coming in to the job, your geographic location (if you live in a city with a high cost of living, expect to get paid more than in a small town with a low cost of living), and your state's minimum wage. When I worked at Bath & Body Works as a sales associate, I had several years experience in retail under my belt and received about 75 cents more per hour than the minimum wage at the time. The good news is that you'll get a small raise about every 6 months when you're evaluated--if you do well, this is! The only real way to know for sure what you'll be getting paid is to ask the manager. If you have previous retail experience, they will usually match the pay rate at your last job or even go a bit higher.

What is joint stock company and what are its main objective?

What is joint stock company and what are its main objective?
Joint stock company is an organization that falls between the definitions of a partnership and corporation. This type of company issues stock and allows for secondary market trading; however, stockholders are liable for company debts. This is a type of company that has access to the liquidity and financial reserves of stock markets, but also has the restrictions of a partnership.Joint stock companies first came into being in the 18th century in Britain, and were mainly concerned with foreign trade. Initially, the organizational form was viewed with suspicion, it being supposed that it encouraged managerial inefficiency and corruption.

The key features of the joint stock company can be simply stated. It is a separate legal entity, distinct from the people engaged in it, and with continuity, so that it does not die when the founders withdraw. The basic framework involves three sets of economic actors: the shareholders, the directors and the employees. The shareholders provide financial capital in return for a share in the profits. Their liability is limited to the capital they have subscribed, which is forfeit if the company fails. There is a distinction in practice, though not in legal treatment, between a "private company" where the shares are held by a single person or small group and cannot be transferred without the agreement of the shareholders, and a public company or PLC, where shares are offered for sale to the public at large, and can be freely traded. The largest public companies will usually take steps to have their shares listed and traded on the stock market. Smaller public companies may have to make do with less public means of trading their shares e.g. the Unlisted Securities Market in the UK, or arrangements for placing shares organised by merchant banks. The directors of the company are elected to the Company Hoard by the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting.

Does Quicken 99 work on Windows 7?

Does Quicken 99 work on Windows 7?
Absolutely. I just put Quicken 99 on a Windows 7 laptop. I then put the backup files which were on my 98 computer (files that went back to 1983). I originally spent a lot of time putting all the data I could find into Quicken 99 when I first bought the program. On windows 7 installation I used the NT4 compatibility that is in Windows 7. Compatibility with 98 I am sure would also work. Everything works perfect on the Windows 7 laptop. I still use the 98 computer to enter data and occasionally transfer the 3 backup files from the 98 to 7 machine (instant protection if one machine dies). Why upgrade (and fight the hassles) if Quicken 99 does everything you need?

Explain factors infuencing financial decisions?

Explain factors infuencing financial decisions?
In business school, one is often taught two critical factors -- hurdle rate of return (or cost of capital) and risk. These are then combined into a weighted cost of capital (ie: a return weighted for risk)However, one also needs to weigh strategic factors, such as the nature and importance of the financial decision. For example, if I were running a business, there are certain mission-critical things i need, and there are certain niceties that would make operations run smoother. And, sometimes there are things that will help me sell more services or products, because the consumer might find that if I had this or that system, my goods/services become more desirableThen, there's also the availability (or scarcity) of funds and the magnitude of the project or financial decision and these might get traded off against alternatives.A useful way to see all these things are what are called decision trees, where one identifies the outcome, then put branches out which define different ways to achieve the outcome along with financial costs, duration of expenditures, and risks of various outcomes. In this way, it can be easier to both do the financial math as well as brainstorm and choose a particular path.hope that helps

How do you get a mortgage with sister?

How do you get a mortgage with sister?
Just as you would with any other person that was not your spouse. Both of you will need to apply, and both of you will be liable for the payments. Assuming that you're applying for a mortgage on a house, the mortgage company will want to know if both (or either) of you will be occupying the house, or if you'll be using it as investment property.Any bank or financial company should be able to walk you both through the process. One suggestion. Go to a lender that has an actual office where you can talk to a live human being. I have yet to see an internet lender actually come across with a better deal than you could get using a local lender.

What is the difference between hiring an IT consultant on a percentage basis or hiring on an hourly basis and which is more benficial?

What is the difference between hiring an IT consultant on a percentage basis or hiring on an hourly basis and which is more benficial?
Finding an IT Consultant Okay. The real question here should be: "What will my IT consultant be doing for me?"IT, for those passers-by who don't know, stands for Information Technology, and can run the gamut from PCs to telephony to program writing, and everything in between. Now, there are two main reasons for needing an IT consultant, and the answer to the original question can be either one.1. YOU'RE INSTALLING SOMETHING. You need some new servers installed, your PBX phone system needs to be replaced, or you have some new PCs to be installed. In this case, you might want to hire on a PERCENTAGE basis, because you want the job done QUICKLY. Due to the fact that your IT Pro gets paid the same whether it takes an hour or a month, it is not only in the Pro's best interest to do it quickly, but also to do it right the first time, because they won't get paid extra to fix any foul-ups (though you'll want to make sure that is included in any contract).2. YOU CAN'T RUN YOUR I.T. YOURSELF. Don't know a router from a firewall, or the internet from an interstate? Then you need to hire an IT guy on an HOURLY or MONTHLY CONTRACT basis. Hourly hiring means that you'll always have someone to call when Windows won't boot, but you might pay dearly for it. Many small companies will choose to retain a consultant on a contractual basis, making it easier to budget for such issues. Let's face it. When more than three WinPCs try to talk to one another, you'll need a pro somewhere to make it happen. Might as well plan for it.So, to review: Need something installed ONCE or REINSTALLED? Use a percentage basis. Need someone to help on an ONGOING basis? Find a really good IT guy, hire him hourly, and consider giving him a retainer.pS!

Amway does not have stores. It is a Network Marketing business which means that you purchase through an Independent Business Owner, and if you join the business then in turn you can receive discounts and earn revenue off the purchases of the people that you get involved in the business. Once you become an IBO you can then make purchases direct through their website / or over the phone / by mail & products will be delivered to your door.

Answer If you are interested in becoming an Amway IBO, PLEASE read <a href="http://www.merchantsofdeception.com">Eric Scheibeler's Merchants of Deception</a>. There is, essentially, no reason for this company to exist. What they sell is easily obtained from any number of retail stores, usually at lower prices than Amway offers them and sometimes with higher quality. The whole business revolves around two things: building "downlines" by "showing the plan" and "breaking kits," and selling tools--motivational CDs to tell you how to run a more successful Amway business. The two biggest players in Amway who aren't named DeVos are Dexter Yager and Bill Britt. Both men own CD duplication plants that, among other things, generate tools by the boatload. They also have massive, international-scope downlines. Yager's downline has been described as containing "hundreds of thousands of distributors."

You took out a loan for your sister now you want to buy a home but this is keeping you from doing that how can you let them know you are not paying that loan?
It doesn't matter. What matters is that in the even she stops paying for the loan you are listed as the person that will have to pay for it. That add's to your debt as a co-signer. In order to get out of it she would need to redo the loan in her name only or get a new co-signer. If she had enough income / credit she would not have needed you to co-sign in the first place. That tells a lender that the original lender would not give her the money unless a 2nd person - you - were willing to guarantee the payments.

What is the risk in entry global market?
There is no answer to this question in its current form. If you mean the global stock market, then of course there is risk. But you try to minimise this via research. Each of us has a different propensity to risk. Risk and reward have to be intelligently balanced. Right now, you could get around 9-9.5% without almost zero risk. If you are looking for a far higher return on your capital, then the markets or hedge funds are your answer. For safety. any investment portfolio should be balanced. That means not all your eggs in one basket.

How do you change the blower motor on a 1996 taho?

How do you change the blower motor on a 1996 taho?
The blower motor resistor is right in the top of the blower box, under the dash. If you remove the glove box you'll have access to the upper portion of the box. On the top, right below the dash, you'll see some wiring connectors and the blower motor relay. remove the bracket and relay and you'll see where the resistor wiring harness connects. there isn't much room back there but you can remove the 2 screws and pull the resistor up out of there. it takes a little work and you may have to bend the wire coils a little but you can get it out without removing the dash - which is what a guy at the parts store told me I would have to do. there you must be thick to not know that a 3 year old kid can do that

How do you calculate the cost per unit?

How do you calculate the cost per unit?
Vague question. Here's my attempt. Simple cost is an accumulation of input costs. It is important to include all costs. i.e.(time, material, overhead).
It can be actual costs or replacement costs. That gets into pricing, accounting, taxation, and banking. I recommend looking in financial accounting and cost accounting to see which fits best.

A general rule: Total manufacturing costs/ total produced units

I only have 30 minutes left on this project so please someone reply fast What is campus life like at universal technical institute?
I just found this question in a list of thousands that I am lookingover to answer for a contest. I still have about 20 hours toanswer, but I'm sorry to say that I think your time may already beup, but here's an answer anyway.

If it is anything like my own experience in university campus lifeit is a blur of drinking and craziness. I don't remember learningmuch, except when the next floor meeting was going to be. And, atthe meeting out RA (resident advisor) talked about how many kegs wewere going to order for the next floor party. That's about it, ifit wasn't for all the buildings around us with all those classroomsin them, we probably would have forgotten that we were supposed tofocus on our education, academically, not alcoholically.

Which one is good Public accounting or Private accounting?

Which one is good Public accounting or Private accounting?
Public and Private Accounting Career opportunities in accounting fall most broadly into two categories: public and private. Public accounting firms range from one-person operations to large multinational organizations that employ thousands of professionals. They provide a variety of services to their clients, who are usually individuals or other businesses. Most often, career paths in public accounting are either in audit or tax. The task of audit professionals-as the word implies-is to carefully and rigorously audit and document all the financial records and business transactions of their clients. The auditing process results in the accountant's "stamp of approval" on the client's business activities. The auditors verify that all client accounting records that are publicly reported (to shareholders, potential investors, etc.) are accurate and that they abide by national accounting standards. Tax accountants provide similar services, but with a more specialized focus. The task of tax professionals is to ensure that their clients' tax records are accurately documented, and that they follow guidelines established by local and national tax agencies. Tax accountants also provide a consulting role by helping their clients minimize their tax liabilities. Private accounting refers to the internal accounting function of companies. Private or corporate accountants perform the same types of tasks of public accountants, yet these tasks are specific to the companies for which they work. Private accounting can be distinguished from public accounting in one important way. Whereas public accounting is more involved in the collecting and external reporting of financial information, private accounting is more involved in the internal use of financial information to help managers within the company make more effective business decisions.

In hiring desicions employers rank communication skills the highest?

In hiring desicions employers rank communication skills the highest?
I assume what you meant to ask was, "Do employers rank communication skills the highest in hiring decisions?" Properly spelling "decisions" would help, also.
Communication is absolutely important. Most firms won't hire you unless they know you can communicate effectively. What good is any skill if you can't communicate your message to a target audience? That goes for any field in any industry. For example, you can be a brilliant financial analyst, but if you can't communicate your ideas, you are useless to the organization.
As part of the recruiting process, many firms are beginning to test a prospect's ability to communicate. Obviously, oral communication can be gauged through face-to-face interviews. To gauge written skills, a recruiter will email you a case. You have 1-2 hours to read the case, write a properly formatted one-page memo on some aspect of the topic, and email it back to the recruiter.
Recruiters say that this is an excellent way to drastically reduce the size of the applicant pool under consideration. This method is becoming more and more common in the interviewing process because it represents an activity you will use on a daily basis in your career.

Last but not least make sure your website isproperly optimized for search engines.

Why are women the first to go in a job cut?

Why are women the first to go in a job cut?
In the recession time what we have to do is first of all to collect the data about the women working single or a single parent looking after the children. then for the other women and especially for the working couple, we should cut the jobs for women as whatever jobs are available in the market a men should be given the preference as he has to look after the family and if a man is engaged in the job society will run smooth and the crime will also be less as they will be busy in their bread and butter by doing the job. In my view women should be chosen first for the job cut. Topic is very long and I cant explain it in a short. But in nut shell Women should go first. Jayant Raj Guglani

Notify the lender and perhaps they can recall your account from collections and end the harassment.

How can I find non-LDS businesses in Utah?

How can I find non-LDS businesses in Utah?
Businesses don't really advertise their religion. Also many businesses aren't religion-related simply because there are multiple owners of different religious backgrounds.
The only businesses in Utah that are owned by the LDS church are Deseret Book, Deseret Industries, Bonneville International (KSL news, Deseret News, KSL channel 5, BYU-tv, and KBYU), a handful of apartment buildings near Temple Square (if you pay rent to DMC, your building is owned by the Church), and the restaurants on Temple Square (the Lion House, The Roof, etc).
A huge percentage of businesses in Utah are partially owned or operated by LDS members, and nearly all of them employ LDS members (yes, even those that sell some alcohol, coffee, or tobacco). Your safe bets are liquor stores, coffee shops, hookah bars, most night clubs, and tobacco stores. There probably aren't any active Mormons there.
Sticking to chain restaurants and stores might be helpful, but if they are franchises, they still may be owned by Mormons.
Sorry, that's what you get for being in a state that is 60% LDS!

HOW does a company dissolve without winding up?

HOW does a company dissolve without winding up?
I do not quite understand the last part of the question but as far as the first part I can say this, If your are referring to dissolving an LLC or Corporation you will need to Get with the Secretary of State or go on-line to the Secretary of State website for your state and fill out paperwork for dissolution of a company and pay any fee's necessary to complete the filing. Once this is done then you should be good, you will receive paperwork in the mail confirming the dissolution of the company to keep for your files. You will also have to get with the Dept. of Taxation to close your sales and use tax account and your Franchise and Excise tax Account.

If you are referring to a sole proprietorship that is run through your SSN and just have a business license with the city you are in, then you will need to get with the city and basically shut down the business with them. That way you won't keep receiving the bill for the annual business license renewal and personal property tax.

In what ways is radiation useful?

In what ways is radiation useful?
Radiation is used every day for medical treatment. Radiation treatment is an accepted form of therapy for some forms of carcinoma. We also use it in medical imaging and in other forms of patient testing and evaluation. There is a lot of other biological investigation that involves the use of radiation emitted from nuclear materials, too. The so-called radioactive tracers help us track and document the processes of life.Industrial uses abound. We use radiation to sterilize things. It works very well, and it's more practical and cost-effective to have a radioactive source rather than use electricy to generate ionizing radiation. We also use "chunks" of radioactive material as a radiation source for portable X-rays. You wouldn't believe all the stuff we X-ray in the world of industry. Pipe welds are just one thing. You would expect that physicists are still investigating various aspects of nuclear behavior using radiation, and they are. There are still other uses of radiation, but note that there are a couple of basic "flavors" of radiation: electromagnetic (like X-rays and gamma rays) and particulate (like beta particles, protons and neutrons). Just wanted you to be aware of that. As an example, neutron flux in the core of an operating nuclear reactor is used in lots of applications to synthesize materials, and these materials will emit either kind of radiation depending on what we make and what we want. That's were a lot of nuclear materials come from. We also are seeing an increase in the use of the cyclotron, a particle accelerator. It is applied to both systhesize materials and also to be used in imaging and as a new treatment option in radiation therapy. It's a new frontier.

What makes a partnership?

What makes a partnership?
A partnership is an agreement between 2 or more parties formed to achieve some sort of goal. An informal partnership can be verbal, though to prove and formalize a partnership some sort of contract should be drawn up that outlines the purpose of the partnership and who will be responsible for the specific duties that are required and the duration of the partnership (if applicable). The partnership is formalized officially when all parties have signed the agreement, which is then generally filed with the local municipality.
