What is market-driven journalism?
When the media cover stories based on their perception of what people (the market) want to hear rather than applying journalistic judgement as to what is truly newsworthy.

Tabloid newspapers are an extreme example, with headlines focused on what some Hollywood star did yesterday and not on major social or geo-political issues.
