Why is selecting a supplier important?
The process ofprocurement (finding a supplier of materials of services) is vital to any company.
EXAMPLE: If you as a company make a product and out source the making of a screw to hold a widget to your product. You will want that screw at the the best price (better than you can make it) with a thread a certain specification, available and the supplier able to maintain that supply.
When selecting the screw supplier you will need to be comfortable that screws meet all the requirements, that the company has the ability to provide the volumes you want when YOU want them. IF you are dealing with a poor subcontractor the product you make may suffer because of their poor operation - YOU LOSE OUT in the market place
