Why wont TurboTax 2008 connect to update server?
After trying to install & update on 3 computers I got the same result on all of them. TurboTax 2008 will install but it give a generic error message when it tries to connect to check updates. After 2 calls to tech support I have no solution & neither does Intuit support.I am running XP Pro with all the latest updates. I tried disabling the firewall and virus protection to no avail.Tech support wanted me to uninstall XP SP3 and ITunes. I tried ITunes (didn'y work) but drew the line at screwing with a stable windows installation. I am waiting for a higher level tech to call me back...I appears Intuit is having a large problem this year. I plan to wait for the fix to come in. I just wish they'd be honest about the problem!I believe it may be due to a faulty .NET Framework installation.
