What are examples of habituation?
Habituation is when an animal is presented with a stimulus andresponds to this stimulus, but when the stimulus is presentedrepeatedly with only a few minutes or seconds between it soon stopsresponding to the stimulus because it has learnt that it will notharm or benefit the animal so it has learnt to ignore it. anexample of this is a snail moving across a wooden surface and whenthe experimenter taps on the surface the snail withdraws into itsshell but after a few taps it learns that it isn't going to harm itand ignores the tapping.
