What is the difference between modernization westernisation?

What is the difference between modernization westernisation?
Modernization generically simply means embracing new technologies and knowledge gained through technological advances and scholarly work, whereas Westernization is perhaps a kind of modernization, but it also means embracing Western cultural and social ideas (e.g. capitalism, democracy, rule of law, freedoms of speech, religion, press, tolerance, separation of the political and the religious, etc.). China is an example of a country modernizing without Westernizing particularly.

Modernism, as an artistic and philosophical movement, has to do with stripping away the ornamentation of life to get at what is real and "true" beneath: in architecture, this means buildings that are pure form, without any adornment; in literature, this means internal monologues and an exploration of the unconscious, subconscious, or internal pscyhology of the individual.
