What factors prevent developing nations from becoming industrialixed nations?
They have little money for schools, so the average education levels are very low. They have to work too long just to eat, so they don't grow economically. There is poor infrastructure. Roads are bad, electricity is erratic or non-existent. Poor sewage disposal/treatment means people are sick often and their water can be filthy and full of bacteria. Infant mortality is greater.
All those things make people unhappy, so there's almost always conflict and war.

Take all those things into consideration, and it's pretty tough to industrialize a nasty place, especially with bullets zinging around.
