Large Governments are bad for growth To what extent does empirical evidence support this Is the South African government abnormally large or should its role be increased?

well that really depends on the efficiency of a particular government,we may say that a large government is not good for growth because it grows and gets to a point of inefficiency. But on the other hand as one person posted that a large government is not good because people move from rural areas to urban areas to seek employment and a better life because government does not promote the agricultural sector in those areas where land is enough, well I can argue that the reason why people from the rurals move is because of the lack or lesser quantity of government representatives representing their areas.Individuals have a tendency to try and empower their own people,be it in churches, companies and even in politics, consider BEE for examlpe-how many people have really benefited from it? further look at the what is happening in Kenya.I personally believe that as long as the government is efficient, its size does not really matter, look at the sizes of the government structures of some of the developed economies-they are ernomous, some genius i don't know said "two heads are better than one", I stand with him or her.WE NEED REASONABLY LARGE ENOUGH GOVERNMENTS.Size of the government does not determine a country's growth it is determined by the country's GDp.
