What kind of business requires the most drive and motivation?

What kind of business requires the most drive and motivation?
The kind of business that requires the most drive and motivation is the business YOU start, own and run. Being an entrepreneur means you need to get yourself out of bed every day your business is open, regardless how you feel about it. The motivation is nearly always personal: pride in ownership or the need to prove yourself, or even just to make a few dollars more than you're making in your job.

Also, as an entrepreneur, you need to do EVERYTHING, at least at the beginning. For example, if you create jewelry, you need to be the

designer,
raw goods buyer,
sales rep,
advertiser,
marketer,
bookkeeper,

and a few other internal jobs I haven't mentioned. Likewise, if you choose to own a construction company, a movie studio, a bicycle shop or even write a book, you need to push yourself (have the drive) to get it done, to finish whatever project you begin.

As for motivation, it is the motivation to succeed that makes your business thrive and survive. No, I'm not advocating any specific business; no spam or links, no affiliations, and no chain letters. Business owners must find what it takes for them to get out of bed in the morning and work until the day is finished.

Conversely, the OTHER job that takes the most drive and motivation is daily showing up at the job you hate. Nothing saps your strength of mind and will more than a job you dread going to, regardless whether it's the boss you detest, your co-workers you despise or the product you no longer believe in ("product" used loosely here; could be thing, idea or service).
